Lotus CEO Dany Bahar presented Toyota president Akio Toyoda with a Lotus Elise this week at the British Embassy in Tokyo, celebrating the companies' long partnership. The Elise was equipped with Toyota's last 2ZZ-GE VVTL-i engine, the same engine found in older versions of the Lotus Elise and Exige. “The presentation of Toyota's last 2ZZ engine in the Elise is a symbolic gesture of our continued respect and deep appreciation for our partner not only acknowledging our past, but also looking forward to our future together,” Bahar said in a statement.

But as all things ‘Eco’ are the name of the game at the moment (which we’re all in favour of – just don’t use ‘Man-Made Climate Change’ as the reason) Fiat are bolting on their eco:Drive system to the Qubo – but don’t worry it will shove the price up if you’re thinking of getting one – it’s a freebie. The Fiat eco-Drive started out with a launch on the Fiat 500 earlier in the year, and is now available on not just the 500, but the Grand Punto and the Bravo. Basically, it’s a USB stick that you plug in to the car which can then be read by software to tell you how badly you’re driving.
Infiniti Emerg-E Supercar Concept arrives ahead of Geneva
The Infiniti Emerg-E Supercar Concept – heading for a debut at the Geneva Motor Show – has arrived early thanks to a leak. At the start of February we got a handful of teaser photos of the Infiniti Emerg-E, a range-extender electric sports car from Infiniti, with the promise of a reveal at the Geneva Motor Show in March. But the Emerg-E has arrived a bit early thanks to Interweb leaks.
